"Would you like to know how I know that you love me?"

The question was a little off hand, a little unexpected and a lot intriguing.

She lifted up her eyes to meet his, tilting her head slightly to the right and replying with a quiet, "how?"

"You know exactly how I like my coffee and you make a point to get up every morning and make it just right for me before I leave for work, even though you go back to sleep immediately after."

A soft smile spread across her lips as she listened to his words. His bright eyes looked into hers as he gently held her hands in his.

"You know that I like the room cold, just so I can use more blankets at night, and you never complain about it. In fact, you've set our bed up to keep us equally warm and comfortable."

They both laughed quietly to themselves, before he turned his eyes away, looking up to their fireplace.

"You take care of the things that are important to me, even if you may think they're incredibly stupid."

She followed his eyes to the framed ticket to his favorite band's concert that sat right next to her favorite picture of them.

"You don't like sports, but you will still cook me a nice meal and sit down and try to understand them with me whenever you have a chance."

He placed his arm around her, pulling her against his chest and settling his head comfortably on top of hers.

"In short, you do everything you can for me, but you never complain or make me feel like it's any sort of hassle. You enjoy it."

She pulled away from him, planting a chaste kiss on his lips before smiling and whispering, "And would you like to know how I know that you love me?"

He smiled, running a hand up along her spine, "How?"

"You notice all the little things I do and you appreciate them."
